Approximately 2,248 students have made the Fall Semester 2015 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

Samford University releases dean's lists after the close of the fall and spring semesters each academic year. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. Dean's List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.

Dr. Bonita C. Jacobs, president of the University of North Georgia, has recognized more than 1,200 students who achieved a 4.0 grade point average during the fall 2015 semester.

Valdosta State University is proud to announce the names of those Fall 2015 students who earned Dean's List status. Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher are recognized by being placed on the Dean's List. Developmental studies, transients, and graduate students are not eligible for Dean's List status.

The following students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the 2015 fall President's List at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga.

Georgia Southern University Eagle Motorsports Racing team will travel to Mexico to compete in the SCORE (Southern California Off Road Experience) International Baja 1000 race Nov. 18-23, 2015.

Study abroad is a major component of Wofford's commitment to shaping globally connected citizens. Opportunities range from travel/study Interim projects to a full-year at a university abroad. Students may choose from more than 200 programs and 59 countries. Co-curricular opportunities include service learning, internships and cultural excursions.

Nearly 300 students received course credit through study abroad experiences during the 2014-2015 academic year.

Georgia State University Law Review is a legal journal published four times per year by second- and third-year Georgia State Law students who have demonstrated outstanding writing and academic skills.

Georgia State Law's Class of 2015 included 166 graduates from full-time and part-time programs. Among them, 58 graduated with pro bono distinction, donating nearly 14,000 hours of legal counsel and service. Nearly 60 graduated with academic honors. This marks the college's 31st commencement and hooding ceremony.

Georgia Southern University recently held its annual spring commencement ceremonies for graduate and undergraduate students at Hanner Fieldhouse and Allen E. Paulson Stadium. University President Brooks A. Keel, Ph.D., conferred more than 3,300 graduate and undergraduate degrees during two separate ceremonies to accommodate the graduating classes.

More than 1,700 students made the spring 2015 Deans' Lists at the University of North Georgia (UNG) for achieving a 3.5 grade point average, carrying 12 or more credit hours in one semester and having no grade lower than B. The deans of UNG's five colleges — The College of Arts & Letters, The College of Education, The College of Health Sciences & Professions, The Mike Cottrell College of Business, and the College of Science & Mathematics — announced the names of students who made their respective lists.

The university's spring commencement ceremonies were held May 1-3 on UNG's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. This spring semester, UNG conferred some 1,300 degrees. Additionally, 36 graduating members of the Corps of Cadets took oaths as second lieutenants in the National Guard or U.S. Army.

Piedmont College has recognized students from the 2015 Spring Semester who were selected as Dean's Scholars and named to the Dean's List. Students named as Dean's Scholars have earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the semester, and students named to the Dean's List have earned a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.99.

The following area residents were among 270 students who graduated from Georgia Southwestern State University during the Spring 2015 Commencement Ceremony held on Saturday, May 9 in Convocation Hall of the Student Success Center.

More than 150 undergraduate students presented their research at the Georgia State Undergraduate Research Conference (GSURC) on Tuesday, April 14. Students from a wide variety of disciplines shared their findings through oral presentations, posters, artistic displays and performances.
